It wasn't that long ago that telephones all had cords. The phone would ring, and someone in the family would run over to answer it. If you wanted to allow people to leave you messages, you had to have a whole separate machine called an answering machine. Ah, those were the days. Telephones sure have changed over the years. Today, they give you access to the Internet, and they can even give you directions as you drive. That's pretty remarkable, and it is one of the many reasons why we like writing about telephones. We hope you enjoy reading about them just as much.
